Community Classes and Training

The McKenna Events Center has several room configurations available to accommodate a variety of community classes and training seminars.

  • Classroom A and B: Classroom A and B offers seating for up to 100 guests and makes up our largest classroom size. This room is available for intimate rehearsal dinners and corporate lunches.
  • Classroom B1, C, and D: These small classrooms offer the choice to be creative in the size of space you want. Sound proof partition walls enable these rooms to be either small or large. Each classroom can accommodate up to 50 guests, depending on the table configuration. This setup is ideal for small board meetings and sweet bridal luncheons.

Corporate Gatherings

The McKenna Events Center features a variety of business meeting and conference space for small or large groups. Our Texas Ballroom has the ability to break down into many classroom/lecture styles and allows our clients the choice of selecting their desired event space.

Elegant Receptions

The McKenna Events Center is a picture perfect place to host your dream wedding reception. Our elegant Texas Ballroom is the perfect setting for a sit-down dinner for up to 650 guests. The uniqueness of this room is that it can be broken down into a Partial Ballroom which can hold up to 400 seated guests.

When you select the McKenna Events Center you receive:

Room Configurations

The McKenna Events Center has several room configurations available to accommodate a corporate gathering, elegant reception, social event, or formal dinner.

We have the following rooms available:

  • Doyle Krueger Hall: The Doyle Krueger Hall is a great location to host a surprise birthday party or a corporate luncheon with a fun rustic Texas theme. This room holds up to 96 guests. If you include the beautiful San Jacinto Courtyard you can accommodate up to 150 guests.
  • Classroom A and B: Classroom A and B offers seating for up to 100 guests and makes up our largest classroom size. This room is available for intimate rehearsal dinners and corporate lunches.
  • Classroom B1, C, and D: These small classrooms offer the choice to be creative in the size of space you want. Sound proof partition walls enable these rooms to be either small or large. Each classroom can accommodate up to 50 guests, depending on the table configuration. This setup is ideal for small board meetings and sweet bridal luncheons.
  • Partial Ballroom: The Partial Ballroom can host an event for up to 400 guests seated, and works well for seminar seating for up 600 guests.

Food Service

Our planners can work with you to create any style menu, from casual to elegant. The following are some suggested offerings:
  • Elegant Dinners: Featuring spring mix salad topped with cranberries and chopped pecans, drizzled with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. This option includes grilled petite sirloin steak topped with red wine drizzles and served on smashed garlic potatoes with "long" green beans and red bell peppers, baby carrots, and squash. For dessert, try chocolate mouse served with a mint chocolate stick!
  • Themed Buffets: Try our Mexican Buffet with chicken, beef, or combination fajitas. This selection includes Spanish rice, refried beans, tortilla chips, salsa, chile con queso, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and guacamole. Try our Home-style cooking with chicken fried steak including fresh whipped potatoes, fresh seasoned green beans, Caesar salad, and dinner rolls.
  • Hors D' Oeuvres: Try our domestic cheese tray including cuts of sharp cheddar cheese, Wisconsin Swiss cheese, and zesty pepper jack. Or try our classic fresh vegetable tray including carrots, celery, grape tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, pepper petals, bleu cheese, and accompanied by a creamy ranch dipping sauce. Enjoy bacon wrapped chicken with jalapeños, or gulf shrimp on ice with a cocktail dipping sauce. We also have Andouille sausage wrapped in a flaky puff pasty dough and antipasto displays with salami, buffalo mozzerella, roasted peppers, grilled zucchini, olives, and toast points.

Bar Service

Beverage service at a wedding reception or a corporate party is a nice guest perk. At the McKenna Events Center, you are able to select your choice of bar service from four options to set the tone of your event.
We have the following options available:
  • Open Bar: Your guests are allowed to choose from an array of predetermined beverage selections at your expense. This service may include: Call, well, or premium liquors.
  • Limited Bar: Allows you, the host, to make the decision on how much you want to gift. This service is one of our most popular due to the gift of your service while also passing the fee onto your guests as well. An example of this service is: beer and wine for your guest is free all night or for an hour and then your guests pay after that hour. Or, if they would like a martini instead, they pay for that drink option.
  • Cash Bar: A great bar selection for you, as the host, especially when you host an event where half of your guests do not consume alcohol. This bar service offers your guests the choice of any beverage they may want at their expense; alcohol or non-alcohol.
  • Dry House: Your beverage station offers non alcohol drinks only. This bar may include water, soft drinks, and non-alcohol mixed beverages.

Event Planning Tools

Our friendly and imaginative planners have more than 25 years of experience skillfully choreographing the smallest details.

Below are some tools and suggestions to get you started:
  • Buy a Wedding Planner - this book will give you insight on how to plan your event along with keeping you organized. If you are planning another type of event, buy a large notebook with lots of dividers and label according to your main vendors.
  • Create a budget - this will help you stay on top of what you are spending as well as help your vendors provide services towards that budget.
  • Assume that 90 percent of your guests will come to your event. This will help with your budget and event layout.

The Events Center Café offers a practical solution for promoting healthy eating in the workplace and at home. Savor healthy breakfast options, lunch-time meals including a loaded salad bar and sensible snacks that are ready to take home. Or you can enjoy them in the comfortable café dining area or al fresco on the patio. The café is located just down the main hallway from the McKenna Children’s Museum.

  • Exit 186 in New Braunfels, Texas.
  • Travel west on Walnut Avenue.
  • Proceed through one traffic light at Business 35.
  • Take a right at the second light (San Antonio Street.) You will pass two streets. McKenna Events Center is on the right, at 801 West San Antonio Street between Santa Clara and Willow Streets.
  • Park in front and enter through front entrance.
